Lady Verna Ginyard was born and raised in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles California. Lady Verna received her Associates
Degree in Business, before moving to Washington D.C. to attend Howard University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in
Business Management (with an emphasis in Human Resources). Lady Verna is a devoted wife to her husband, Pastor Barry L.
Ginyard, Jr., and a loving mother of four.
Having been introduced to church work at the tender age of 8, the Lord began pulling together the puzzle pieces of Lady Verna’s life. Putting to good use her energy and willingness to learn Lady Verna began working in the church in her youth and hasn’t stopped. She has served in many auxiliaries and leadership positions on the local, state, national levels of the Church of God in Christ.
In April 2007 it became apparent why God chose Lady Verna to bestow this great capacity to work and serve upon. It was then that she and her husband discussed his acceptance of God’s call to pastor. Then on June 1, 2008, she helped her husband launch True Covenant Church. In her role as Director of Women for True Covenant Church she launched the Empowered Women Ministry. Lady Verna’s dedication, effectiveness, and organization skill has made her a highly sought after resource.
Balance has always been Lady Verna’s moniker. In addition to the success she has enjoyed in church; she has also enjoyed great success in the corporate world. She currently serves as the Human Resources Manager at Detroit Thermal Systems. This position allows her God given ability to help people shine. Lady Verna credits much of her corporate success to many great people who have poured into her life, including her mentors, Bill Powers, Sr. and Ron Hall, Sr.
Lady Verna has a passion is for bringing healing to the hurting. She also is committed to teaching others how to live the abundant life God has created for His people. She is a humble servant, a born worshiper, and a lover of God’s people. “Ministering love and healing through action and God’s Word” is her motto.
